Step Up To A Levels (SUTA)

If you haven’t achieved the grades you hoped for to move on to A Levels, then this course is for you!

The course is designed for students who would like to progress onto A Levels but don’t yet have the grades. Step up to A Levels is a Level 3, 1 year programme offering students the chance to re-take their GCSE Maths and English grade to achieve higher than a 4, students will also study the AAQ Applied Science programme As well as 1 AS Level.

You will study:
– GCSE English
– GCSE Maths
– AAQ Applied Science
– AS Business
– AS Psychology

Learners will also have 1 hour of tutorial per week, 1 hour of enrichment per week, and 1 day of work experience per week.

You will be assessed through externally marked exams.

Entry Requirements

To be accepted onto this Level 3 programme, you must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language.

You will need to have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4.

Progression

Upon successful completion of the programme, and with good attendance, you will be able to progress onto A Levels.

What if I don’t have 5 GCSEs at grade 4? Please contact us to discuss your qualifications.

How long is the course? This is a 1 year course.

What if I already have GCSE English and or Maths at grade 5 or above? The SUTA Programme is to support learners progress onto Level 3 who don’t yet meet the entry requirements for the A Level programme. Where English and Maths are obtained, students on SUTA will complete the AAQ in Applied Science and both the AS Business, and AS Psychology. This will then be a full-time programme.

– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.

– Work Experience – hours will vary depending on your qualification and course level.

– Personal Development Awards – developing six key areas of personal and employability behaviours to prepare you for the working world.
