This Performing & Production Arts course will give you a sound understanding of all related disciplines, including acting, dance, musical theatre and production. In year one, you will study the Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts, and in year two, you will study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing & Production Arts.

The Performing and Production Arts course is a full-time, hands-on programme designed for passionate performers and creatives looking to develop skills in acting, singing, dance, musical theatre, and production.
You’ll train with our industry-experienced creative team in a range of exciting performing arts classes and take part in public performances throughout the year. To help you explore future training opportunities, we also host workshops with top drama schools. Previous workshops have included sessions with Fourth Monkey, Mountview and Performers College, giving you a taste of professional training and industry expectations.

Whether you want to build confidence, refine your craft, or prepare for a career in the industry, this course will help you grow as a performer and creative professional. You will explore voice work, improvisation, pantomime, acting practitioners, musical theatre, singing, and dance, while also gaining experience in production areas such as costume, lighting, sound, props, and marketing.

Assessments

There is no requirement to sit any written exams. You will be assessed on your practical work and written coursework.

Entry Requirements

To be accepted onto this Level 3 programme, you must hold at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language.

Progression

You could progress to university or drama school. Previous learners have progressed onto courses at Bird, Italia Conti, Rose Bruford, Performance Preparation Academy, Trinity Laban, Emil Dale, Chichester, Northampton and Plymouth Universities. Future careers could include choreographer, musical director, vocal coach, performing arts teacher, theatre administrator, producer, musical theatre performer, actor (theatre or screen), dancer, personal trainer, agent or casting director.

Facilities and resources

You will spend much of your time in Nexus – our specialist performance zone, equipped with a stage, three dressing rooms, a lighting rig and sound system. Learners will also use our specialist performing arts studio with sprung flooring, mirrors and sound system.

– Maths and English Language development – if you have not achieved GCSE grade 4 in either of these subjects.

– Personal Development Awards – developing six key areas of personal and employability behaviours to prepare you for the working world.
