One of the standout announcements is the launch of Petroc’s new Strategic Plan and Curriculum Strategy, setting a clear and ambitious direction for the next two years.

Celebrating Success Across the Board
From packed-out open events to standout student showcases, Petroc is buzzing with activity.
Over 2,200 prospective students and families attended recent open events – a 450-person increase from last year. The Annual Hair & Beauty Showcase, held at the Lifestyle Centre, was another glittering success, showing off the creativity and talent of Petroc’s learners.
Student Sports: Surf, Netball & National Finals
Petroc’s sporting achievements continue to impress:
Netball: Still undefeated this season – an unbeaten streak now lasting two years.
Volleyball: Headed to the national finals this May – good luck to the team!
New Academies: The launch of Surf Life Saving and Rugby Academies is already making waves, with pre-season training now underway and still open for sign-ups.
Apprenticeships: 100 in 100 — and Beyond
Petroc’s 100 in 100 campaign, to secure 100 apprenticeship pledges in 100 days, has been a resounding success — with 116 pledges and counting.
Listening & Acting on Feedback
In response to recent surveys from students, parents, and employers, Petroc is already seeing positive changes. Kurt assured the community that listening and continuous improvement remain central to the college’s approach.
Capital Investment: Building for the Future
Kurt highlighted major campus modernisation works currently underway. The improvements aim to create greener, more inspiring spaces for learning, with works set to enhance both student experience and staff facilities.
Summer Term: Opportunities for All
This term brings a new range of free adult short courses, covering areas like Introduction to Dentistry and Sport & Fitness, plus Skills Bootcamps offering government-backed training with guaranteed interviews.
