Course details
Assessments
There is no requirement to sit an exam as part of this qualification. Your coursework will be assessed via a combination of both practical work and reflection on that work.
Entry Requirements
You must hold four GCSEs at grade 2 or equivalent (or above), preferably including Maths and English. If you do not have a GCSE grade 4 in Maths and/or English, you’ll continue studying these subjects alongside your chosen course(s). At the end of the year, you are expected to have completed and achieved all the components of your Level 1 Study Programme and improved your Maths and English skills (where applicable) before progressing on to your next course.
If you have not met the entry requirements for Level 2 or Level 3 then please apply. Every application will be considered on its own merits.
Progression
Where could this take you? Progress to a Level 2 qualification in music, performance, or production arts and continue your creative journey!
Facilities and resources
Students will spend much of their time in Nexus – our specialist performance zone – which includes a stage, three dressing rooms, a lighting rig and sound system, four rehearsal booths, Protools recording studio, and three 4K cameras connected to a live streaming controller and recorder.
They will also spend time in our performing arts studio and utilising macs/PCs in the media production area,

A:You will just need headphones
Q: Will I have opportunities to perform or showcase my work during the course?
A: Yes, regular performances will be implemented as part of your assessments.
Q: Are there any additional costs besides tuition fees that I should be aware of?
A: Yes, a studio fee of £100 is required to cover the costs of course resources over the two-year programme. This can be paid in instalments.
