Diploma in Beauty & Spa Therapy
This Beauty Therapy and Spa qualification will enable you to further your skills and increase your employment prospects and earning potential by developing the range of treatments you are able to offer. During the course you will be introduced to the specialist treatments of body massage, facial and body electrical treatments, hot stone massage and spa treatments.
The course involves in-depth skills training in:
– Electrotherapy
– Spa treatments
– Body massage
These are supported by the studying of:
– The anatomy and physiology of the body
– Client care
– Health and safety
– Client communication
– Selling and promoting of services and products
There’s a valuable commercial component to the programme too, so you can learn relevant skills required in running a column of treatments and working on paying clients.
You will be taught by industry professional staff within our modern commercial salons.

Course details
Assessments
The course is assessed through a 2 hour 40 minute external theory examination and a 5 hour externally moderated practical examination on an unknown client. You will practise on each other before progressing to practising on clients ready for your final assessments.
Throughout the qualification we will also be working on the development of your Employability Skills as well as your Maths and English.
Entry Requirements
To be accepted onto this Level 3 programme, you must hold at least four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including GCSE Maths and English Language.
To apply for this study programme you must have already completed a full Level 2 in Beauty Therapy. Experience of working in the industry would be preferable.
Progression
Following successful completion of the course, you will be invited to continue your studies with us in Level 3 in Nail Technology, Sports Massage or Media Makeup qualification. Alternatively, you can progress to Level 4.
Many of our past learners have gone on to employment in salons, spas and on cruise ships and have eventually opened their own businesses. Others have returned to us to pursue a career in teaching in the beauty, nails & spa sector.

Our Lifestyle and Tourism Centre is home to our state-of-the-art nail bar, hair salon, beauty salon, tanning room, spa room (including sauna, steam room and hot tub), make-up room and training salons.
FAQs
Q: Will I have to wear a uniform?
A: On your first day, you will come in your own clothes, you will then be expected to wear your uniform in all salon sessions.
